GENY HITCH was formed in 2012 by Carl Borkholder, who remains as the managing partner of the company. The foundations of GEN-Y HITCH were based upon the involvement of Carl in the recreational vehicle industry centered in Elkhart County, Indiana as well as Carl’s involvement in the ownership and operation of his business which provided commercial tree care services.
	From their experience in the recreational vehicle industry, Carl became familiar with the construction practices of that industry and put his knowledge into the construction of custom trailers for hauling vehicles and material. 
	Carl’s involvement in the commercial tree care business drove home the inconvenience of not having a hitch system which was compatible among all the trucks and towable units necessary for the company’s operation.  As a result of this incompatibility, crews were constantly forced to make special arrangements to make sure their vehicle could pull the particular trailer necessary for a particular job.  Based upon this experience, Carl began to design an adjustable tri-ball hitch which allowed a truck to tow multiple trailers.  The result of this work was the development of the patented GEN-Y HITCH. The company has continued to develop the GEN-Y HITCH line which currently encompasses multiple hitches, accessories, ramps and more.
All products are proudly made in America and made using American steel. The foundation of the company was built on customer service and it still remains a high priority today. Now residing in a 74,000 sq ft. building in Nappanee, GEN-Y HITCH has never been stronger!
