Genesis was founded in 1989 as a manager of Emerging Market equities for institutional clients. We are a Partnership that brings a team approach to a single investment strategy. We are a large boutique and currently manage a number of separate accounts and five pooled funds. We think we can best deliver excellent long-term returns by working as a team to make investments in quality businesses at attractive prices. Our investment process is structured to enable a cohesive team of experienced Portfolio Managers to generate fundamental research insights and express those insights in the portfolio. The company analysis is led by our PMs who decide whether to include the stock in the portfolio, and the appropriate weighting. We aim to optimise the benefits of teamwork with individual accountability through open, constructive challenge. Our research focuses on identifying quality businesses with aligned management teams and enduring competitive advantages that are trading at a discount to rigorously assessed intrinsic value. As long-term investors, assessing the sustainability of our companies’ business practices is critical.
