GeoOptics is a small Pasadena, California-based company developing next-generation Earth observation capabilities. It operates the CICERO satellite constellation to collect atmospheric radio occultation data, with applications in weather forecasting and environmental monitoring. The CICERO program began with the deployment of satellites in 2018, and the constellation has undergone upgrades since then. Its customers include government and international space agencies focused on weather, climate monitoring, and atmospheric research. In November 2022 NASA selected GeoOptics to provide commercial small-constellation data products that may augment NASA data. Earlier in 2022, it announced a testing program with EUMETSAT to evaluate radio occultation data.
