Based in Tucker, Georgia, Georgia Electric Membership Corp. (Georgia EMC) serves as the statewide trade association for Georgia's electric membership cooperatives, providing leadership and unity through advocacy, education and communications. Georgia's 41 EMCs, along with their generation and transmission partners, supply electricity and related services to about 5 million people—nearly half of the state's population—across roughly 73 percent of Georgia's land area. The association enables EMCs to pool resources to address common issues and pursue activities such as legislative representation, community and economic development, volunteerism, youth and education programs, safety training, consumer advocacy, and environmental stewardship. It also provides media relations and member services support, including the monthly Georgia Magazine for EMC consumers. A notable recent development is the promotion of Bradley Harris to vice president of community and economic development in 2025.
