Georgia Renewable Power, LLC (GRP) is a privately-held renewable energy company headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama. Formed in 2014 to own and operate power-generating facilities that utilize animal litter and woody biomass, GRP supplies base-load electricity to wholesale markets through traditional and synthetic PPAs. The company’s ownership group has more than 40 years of experience in developing, owning, and managing energy and mining assets. GRP currently operates a 25 MW poultry litter and biomass power plant in Lumberton, North Carolina, and is expanding with additional biomass plants in other U.S. locations, including plans for two 58-MW facilities in Georgia and a redesign of its flagship plant in North Carolina. The company has engaged in partnerships such as a joint venture with Active Energy Group for CoalSwitch installations at GRP sites in North Carolina and Georgia, and has worked with Temp-Pro for temperature sensing equipment at two project sites.
