Girl Scouts is the world’s preeminent organization dedicated solely to girls—all girls—where, in an accepting and nurturing environment, girls build character and skills for success in the real world. In partnership with committed adult volunteers, girls develop qualities that will serve them all their lives, like leadership, strong values, social conscience, and conviction about their own potential and self-worth. Girl Scouts of California's Central Coast serves approximately 11,000 girls across six counties and is committed to making Girl Scouting available to girls in ways that impact their lives both in the moment and into the future. Girls participate in troops, individual projects, council events, day camps and more. A variety of leadership, outdoor skills, and Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) based programs and events provide girls with opportunities to learn and explore in fun and informative ways. The Arnaz Program Center, located on 36-acres near the beautiful Ojai valley, serves as a platform for different age-level troops to engage in camp-outs, archery, outdoor education, place-based learning and environmental education through a variety of activities that reflect the interests and needs of the girls and the skills and abilities of the adults who support them.
