GIIC is a non-profit organization based in Alameda, California, operating an award-winning after-school program for girls ages 6 to 18. As an affiliate of the national Girls Inc. network, it emphasizes the development of the whole girl through safe, girls-only spaces, mentoring, and advocacy that support education and independence. Founded in 1964, the program has empowered more than 30,000 Alameda girls to realize their potential as confident, goal-oriented individuals.

Each year, GIIC provides comprehensive programming to more than 600 girls across STEM, literacy and economic education, the arts, health and wellness, college and career preparation, leadership, and life skills. The organization reports that all members graduate from high school, with about 90% advancing to college or vocational training. In addition to after-school programs, GIIC operates Alameda Island Kids, a licensed childcare service for kindergarten through fifth grade across five Alameda Public Schools.
