GAIN is an international organization focused on nutrition and development. It was launched at the United Nations in 2002 to tackle malnutrition. Working with partners, GAIN seeks to make healthier food choices more affordable, available, and desirable, with the aim of improving nutrition outcomes by increasing the consumption of nutritious and safe food for all, especially the most vulnerable. The organization is based in Geneva, in the Canton of Geneva, and employs a workforce described as several hundred people. Its activities target governments, partner organizations, and other stakeholders within food systems and public health, helping to identify and implement policies and programs that support better nutrition. In 2025, GAIN and partners introduced a toolkit intended to help governments identify and address misaligned food policies.
