The Global Center on Cooperative Security is a Washington, DC-based international non-governmental organization focused on human rights-centered responses to political violence, violent extremism, and injustice worldwide. It collaborates with community groups, governments, and international bodies such as the United Nations. Founded roughly twenty years ago, the organization emphasizes rights-based approaches to counterterrorism and the prevention of violent extremism across four interlinked areas of expertise: Criminal Justice and Rule of Law, which supports accountable and accessible justice systems; Financial Integrity and Inclusion, which promotes transparent, equitable financial systems to curb illicit financial flows; Multilateral Security Policy, which shapes globally informed yet locally grounded security policy; and Civic Space, which invests in empowered communities and civil society engagement on peace and security agendas. 

 Its work targets governments, civil society organizations, and international institutions, including the United Nations, as collaborators and beneficiaries. A notable recent development is a partnership with Strong Cities Network in 2023 to enhance outreach and engagement, including activity in Southeast Asia.
