Global Green USA is a nonprofit organization based in Santa Monica, California, focused on advancing sustainable and resilient communities by promoting greener cities, neighborhoods, and businesses and by prioritizing environmental health and justice. Founded in 1994 by activist and philanthropist Diane Meyer Simon, the organization was created with involvement from former Soviet leader Mikhail S. Gorbachev to foster a global value shift toward a sustainable and secure future. Its work blends research, community-based projects, and targeted advocacy to educate broad audiences, mobilize resources for environmental initiatives, and influence environmental policy. Global Green operates as the only national environmental nonprofit headquartered in Southern California and maintains offices in New Orleans, Washington, D.C., San Francisco, and New York, supporting its reach across multiple regions. In June 2026, Global Green announced a collaboration with Empire State Greenhouses to develop the first carbon-negative circular food infrastructure, signaling ongoing expansion of its sustainable infrastructure initiatives.
