Global Health at Miami University is a transdisciplinary initiative within higher education aimed at reducing health inequities at both the individual and population levels. It partners with local communities to understand the complex drivers of health problems and to craft solutions for issues locally and globally. The effort comprises three components: a Global Health Studies minor for undergraduates, the Global Health Research Innovation Center for faculty research and alumni engagement, and the Miami University Global Health Alliance student organization to support extracurricular involvement. Based in Oxford, Ohio, it sits within Miami University's ecosystem and engages students, faculty, and partner organizations in global health work. The initiative seeks to foster interdisciplinary collaborations, explore new approaches to domestic and international health problems, and provide a transdisciplinary education to help students understand the field's complexities.
