Global Mentorship Initiative (GMI) is a U.S.-based nonprofit organization that supports historically underrepresented graduates in securing first professional roles and building sustainable careers. It operates a structured virtual mentoring program that connects students with mentors who provide personalized coaching to navigate the transition from education to employment, with outcomes showing a high likelihood of employment within six to twelve months after graduation. The program is designed to be scalable and accessible worldwide, removing geographic barriers to mentorship and enabling participation from students across many countries and refugee camps. Based in Bellevue, Washington, GMI has been active since 2019 and has grown its global community to include participants from more than 150 countries and 8 refugee camps, along with mentors in over 160 countries. Recent developments include launching an online portal to streamline the mentorship experience and curriculum updates, reflecting ongoing enhancements to its program.
