Global One to One is an educational nonprofit dedicated to cultivating cross-cultural understanding and communication between students across the globe. Through our unique one to one model, global connections and communication are strengthened, creating a network of people prepared to resolve global issues together. Students in classrooms and school clubs at the middle school, high school and collegiate levels can participate in one of our three programs (letter writing, cultural exchanges). Participants develop skills in effective intercultural communication, critical thinking and problem solving, as well as collaboration--skills essential to success in the global economy, work place and international politics. Global One to One is creating a network of students and educators who appreciate the importance of diversity and acceptance of differences on a global level. Over the years... 2007 - Project PeacePal letter exchange founded in Albuquerque, NM. The first exchange was between a school in New Mexico and a school in Togo, West Africa. Since that time nearly 14,000 students in 25 countries have participated in the program. 2010 - After receiving letters from West African students reporting large numbers of family deaths resulting from malaria, U.S. students mobilized to raise $20,000 in order to send 4,700 life-saving bed nets to PeacePal communities in Ghana and Togo. 2013 - PeacePal invited by UNESCO to establish student clubs in New Mexico, increasing opportunities for unique intercultural learning experiences. 2015 - PeacePal grows into Global One to One. New format includes three programs: Connect One to One, Engage One to One and Innovate One to One. 2019 - In 12 years we have connected over 18,000 students across the globe through our international letter exchange program. From 2017-2019 we have hosted a total of 6 cultural exchanges in partnership with organizations like Open World | FHI 360 and World Learning.
