The Gobierno de Cantabria is the regional government of the autonomous community of Cantabria, located on Spain's north coast, with its capital in Santander. It oversees a broad range of public policy areas, including tax, health, social care, education, industry, energy, employment, civil works, agriculture, fishing, tourism, environment, road transport, and telecommunications. The institution was established in 1981 following the Autonomy Act and the 1978 Constitution to govern the region. The government provides governance and services to Cantabria’s residents and institutions from its base in Santander. In January 2024, Cantabria enacted a new provision—Article 4 bis to Legislative Decree 62/2008 through Law 3/2023—introducing a general 100% discount on the quota, reflecting a recent policy change within its legal framework.
