On May 19, 2010, GCFRC received full approval and designation from the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), a branch of the United States Department of Homeland Security. As an approved regional center. GCFRC administrative activities are overseen by the USCIS. In October 2012, the EB-5 pilot program was extended for three years, until September 30, 2015. At that time, it may be further extended or potentially expire.
