Golden Bear Sportswear, also known as GB Sport, is a San Francisco–based producer and retailer of durable outerwear rooted in early 20th-century American workwear. The company began by supplying jackets for San Francisco’s dockworkers, designed to keep wearers warm on cold, foggy nights. In the 1950s it expanded its lineup to The Varsity Jacket, the Bomber Jacket, and the Motorcycle jacket, and later produced award jackets for schools across the United States. Over time it reached fashion and music audiences, creating custom jackets for bands and other clients and distributing its products to shops nationwide and in Japan.
Today it operates from San Francisco with a small team and maintains an in-stock program focused on quality and durability. In 2024, it partnered with Reigning Champ to release a pre-spring collection featuring Albany and Lobos jackets.
