Golden Gate Opera, (GGO) is dedicated to sharing the joys of music, theatre and the many arts found in world’s greatest famous operas and new works, with all ages and all cultural and economic backgrounds. We do this to inspire a better life, through performances and educational programs, thanks to the generosity of our sponsors.
The regional opera company of Marin County, California, Golden Gate Opera is a Professional Company Member of Opera America and attends the Opera America Conference annually, creating relationships with professional opera companies of North America.

Winner of a  National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) ARTWORKS $10,000 Matching Challenge Grant, California Arts Council, County of Marin support, The Bernard Osher Foundation, Fenwick Foundation, Fullerton Family Foundation, Hennessy Advisors, Marin Charitable Association, Robert Greene Real Estate, GGO brings gorgeous live opera to schools, seniors and the overall community.

Opera in Unusual Places included  - Opera Night at San Anselmo Public Library, Colleges, night clubs and unique soirees - Aria Parties - in private homes up close with the opera singers.

The company's roster includes the finest professional opera artists in the San Francisco Bay Area, Emerging Artist Program for career development, as well as artists engaged from other parts of the U.S.
