Gossen Corp is a mid-sized wholesale building materials supplier based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Founded in 1928 by Martin Gossen, the company originated with the first spring-loaded sash balance, a development that eliminated the need for traditional counterweights in windows. Over the decades it broadened into plastic extrusion innovations and collaborated with international experts, with ownership changing hands several times before being reestablished as a family-operated business in the 1980s. Today, Gossen pursues ongoing research and development to advance performance technologies and manufacturing processes in its sector. Its customer base spans six continents, and in 2016 the company was acquired by Inteplast Group, signaling an ownership shift while preserving its mid-sized, entrepreneurial character.
