In 2003, a group of Harvard Business School classmates launched Graduate Leverage, LLC (GL) with the goal of helping fellow students manage the challenges of student loan debt. Supporting over 75,000 graduates from the nation’s top graduate programs, GL evolved into an innovative provider of student loans and servicing options in its pursuit to lower the cost of student loan debt. This realization led to the creation of GL Advisor, a financial advisory firm designed to help graduate students and young professionals burdened with student loan debt fully understand their options, make better decisions regarding debt, and implement solutions to improve their financial net worth. GL has been recognized as a reputable financial services firm in the student lending industry, and, in 2009, GL was listed in Inc. Magazine’s “500/5000” list of fastest growing private companies. The Wall Street Journal also cited GL as a financial services firm that successfully grew their business despite the tough economic climate heralded by the credit crunch of 2008 in their August 2009 article, “Inc.’s 500/5000 List turns up Job-Search Gems”. The firm has also achieved an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau to date.
