Lawrence Blough is principal of GRAFTWORKS, an interdisciplinary design research office. Before founding GRAFTWORKS, he worked in the offices of Peter Eisenman and Antoine Predock and was a Senior Associate in a non-profit architecture and urbanism foundation in New Haven. His work and collaborations have been exhibited at Locust Projects in Miami, Yale University, Kansas State University and Pratt Institute among others and in 2005, GRAFTWORKS was a finalist in the P.S.1 / MoMA Young Architects Program. His current fabrication and tectonic research is being published in the forthcoming book "Matter: Material Processes in Architectural Production" and he is a recipient of NYSCA 2010 Independent Projects Award to develop an innovative aerated concrete assembly system. Blough has taught at Catholic University and Tulane University and is currently Associate Professor and Coordinator of the Intermediate Design sequence at Pratt Institute School of Architecture. He received his B.Arch from Tulane University where his thesis was awarded a commendation with special distinction and he received his M.S.A.A.D from Columbia University.
