Oliver (Ollie) Mulligan’s grandfather Patrick Quinn began their family tradition of whiskey making, and from a young age, it was obvious that Ollie inherited his grandfather’s passion. Always passionate about seeing the world and understanding different cultures, in 1994, Ollie first traveled to the United States.  Like many Irish settlers before him, Ollie first came to Charlotte via the Great Wagon Road.  In September 2013, after a handshake and a few pints with a mate, Ollie decided to leave his corporate job and follow his passion by establishing the Great Wagon Road Distilling Company in Charlotte, NC. 

Great Wagon Road Distilling Co currently produces five award winning spirits: 

- Rua American Single Malt Whiskey made using 100% Organic & Non-GMO Malted Two-Row Pilsner Barley
- Quinn's Carolina Whiskey (small-batch)
- Salamander Gluten Free Vodka
- Drumlish Irish Poteen
- Ban Premium Vodka

Our purpose at Great Wagon Road Distilling Co. is to continue in the Mulligan family heritage of celebrating passionate independents everywhere. With each meticulous and artfully crafted spirit produced, we seek to provide a spirit worth celebrating the passion and perseverance of both the original Great Wagon Road pioneers and contemporary trailblazers alike.
