The Greater Sacramento Urban League is a mid-sized nonprofit based in Sacramento, California. Founded in 1968 as an affiliate of the National Urban League, it is part of a broader network of affiliates across multiple states. The organization is governed by a board of directors reflecting broad community representation. Its mission is to empower Black and other historically marginalized people in the region to achieve economic self-reliance, educational attainment, social justice, and civil rights. The organization partners with other entities to provide opportunities such as youth entrepreneurship programs and guidance for Black business owners. In March 2024, UC Davis Health announced a partnership with GSUL aimed at expanding opportunities in neighborhoods affected by racial inequality and growing the clinical research workforce.
