Green Apple Cleaners is the only dry cleaner in the New York City metropolitan area using exclusively those methods deemed by the Environmental Protection Agency and Natural Resources Defense Council to be truly healthy and sustainable: captured carbon dioxide and high tech water systems. 

Green Apple Cleaners also strives to be an environmental steward in all aspects of its operations and community partnerships. By issuing free, durable garment bags we avoid using disposable plastic bags. When customers state a preference for clear plastic, we use biodegradable bags. We have a comprehensive recycling program, from hangers to paper products. We continually upgrade our delivery fleets and a software program alerts management if a truck is left idling for a minute. We buy wind power for our stores and plant, and we contract with a sustainable printer when we must use hard copy materials.

Green Apple Cleaners sponsors the Newtown Pippin Restoration, which donates heirloom apple trees to schools, gardens and other public spaces throughout the city. We also partner with Housing Works, the American Cancer Society, the Metropolitan Waterfront Alliance, schools, and environmental organizations throughout the tri-state area to promote a healthier future for all.
