GreenFaith is a mid-sized nonprofit in the religious institutions sector based in New York City. It coordinates a worldwide, multi-faith climate and environmental movement that mobilizes members from diverse religious and spiritual backgrounds. The organization seeks to transform individuals, religious institutions, and society to safeguard the planet and foster a compassionate, just world. Its work emphasizes a shared reverence for life on Earth and the dignity of all people, aiming to build resilient communities and economies that meet everyone’s needs while protecting natural resources.

Operating at the intersection of faith and environmental advocacy, GreenFaith connects and supports networks that enable action within religious communities. It has formed partnerships with other faith-based organizations and initiatives, including collaboration with the Interfaith Rainforest Initiative, to advance environmental stewardship. A notable recent development is the July 2024 launch of the 2025 GreenFaith Rising Leaders Fellows, a cohort of 17 climate activists aged 18-35 from diverse religious and spiritual backgrounds.
