GriD architects is an award-winning architecture firm focused on architecture tied to place, designed for people. Our projects span from historic residential renovations to the design of modern luxury office buildings. While our work is aesthetically diverse, our buildings reflect their surroundings, elevated by the people who inhabit them. Rooted in Annapolis, Maryland, our reach expands nationally through a diverse array of mixed-use, commercial, institutional, and residential projects. Our approach to every project is based on an immersive search for the found potential across all aspects of a project’s context. We consider the context, regardless of project scale, to be both (ie, regional) and specific (ie. local existing conditions). Our search focuses on understanding the particulars of place including topography, climate, program, client’s needs, aspirations, and culture. The results of this immersion are the catalyst of our process and the projects we create. We seek to create buildings inextricably tied to place, rendering them resilient, inevitable... Timeless The core of our team’s architectural training and focus both academically and professionally is design, which in essence is solving often complex problems beautifully. We see design as an integral part of everything we do.
