Grossmont College is a higher education institution located in El Cajon, California, with roots tracing back to 1961 when classes first convened. It serves a diverse learning community, primarily drawing students from suburban East San Diego County and nearby San Diego neighborhoods, along with learners from across the state, the nation, and more than 50 countries. The college provides pathways to higher education through degree and transfer programs and credentials designed to support student advancement. In 2023 the college expanded student support through The Village in the Learning Resource Center, which offers services and programs for underserved groups including A2MEND, Umoja, Puente, Dream Center, MESA, former foster youth, and justice-impacted students. The institution has been recognized for transfer outcomes and student support—being named a top transfer school to SDSU for six years and designated a Military Friendly School—and in October 2025 it launched its first Associate of Science Degree in Applied Artificial Intelligence.
