Ground Reconsidered is a landscape architecture studio dedicated to realizing engaging, beautiful and memorable places. The firm has successfully designed and executed projects that range in scope from comprehensive master plans to the creation of intimate landscapes and the detail design of site elements. By responding to site context and client input our work transforms landscapes, enhancing the built projects within them and assuring continuity with the existing environment. We take a holistic view of the site and context our projects inhabit and work to understand geological, hydrological and vegetative conditions as well as the human needs of each location. Our designs respond to visual and physical cues from the environment as well as to the meaning and purpose a place has to its users.

Ground Reconsidered has worked on numerous projects in which master plan ideas were developed into built landscapes. Active participation by the client, as well as the potential users of the site, is essential to the success of our projects as is planning for the on-going maintenance of a newly created landscape. We are intensely concerned with the sustainable character of the interventions that shape the environments we create. As we celebrate 26 years of design excellence we look forward to assuming the challenge of new projects and continuing to provide our clients with innovative and enduring environments that enhance the quality of life of those who encounter them.
