Grove City Medical Center is a small, rural community hospital in western Pennsylvania. Governed by a local board of trustees, the hospital has provided health and medical care for the good citizens of its service area for nearly 40 years. The 110-bed hospital, which has been described as big enough to get the job done, yet small enough to care," has not gone unnoticed through the years. Noted in the region for extraordinarily low infection and readmission rates, the hospital regularly earns high marks in patient satisfaction. Its busy emergency department sees more than 17,000 patients annually, and is typically the receiving facility for victims of car crashes along heavily traveled Interstates 79 and 80. In 2014, the emergency department earned the accreditation as a Level IV Trauma Center in 2014, only the second hospital in the commonwealth to achieve the new designation. GCMC offers a full complement of diagnostic and medical services, and as Chief Executive Officer Rob Jackson often explains, "We can provide for 90 percent of the health and medical needs most people require in their lifetime, and for those we cannot, we can help them access the appropriate level of care."
