The foundation of health and well-being is not merely found in the foods we put into our bodies or in the miles and reps we log at the gym, but more so in the stability and cultivation of our intangible values. Relationships, career, learning, physical activity, spirituality and community involvement are all examples of what we call "primary foods," or those things that primarily nourish our lives. 

Many traditional health practices are missing this important connection between physical body and emotional well-being -- which is why we created a practice that looks at every aspect of a person.  Together with a client, we not only discuss challenges, but also discover strengths, rooting the idea that within each of us, is the ability to live our very best lives.

Guidance for Growing helps busy people find balance in their over-worked, over-stressed lives.  We show clients how to get healthy through thinking, eating and lifestyle shifts. We offer navigation and direction through those long lists of "shoulds" and "have tos."  And we always discover forgotten and hidden strengths.  This kind of self-care and self-work isn't easy for our clients, but it's far more effective, rewarding and long lasting than a magic pill :)  

Guidance for Growing works with a client to find out what's going to be best for his or her specific situation -- without using trendy self-help "secrets" and diets or making promises of an overnight success. Rather, we provide support, empowerment, accountability, education, insight, counsel and resources for people who are ready for change.
