Guitars Over Guns is a mid-sized nonprofit in the performing arts that provides no-cost music instruction, mentorship, and academic support to youth. Its curriculum centers on social-emotional learning, with mentors evaluating students’ academic performance, attendance, artistic progress, and peer interactions after each session, and tracking competencies such as empathy, teamwork, initiative, responsibility, and problem solving.
