Gwinnett County Government serves as the local government administration for Gwinnett County in Georgia, delivering a wide range of public services to residents, businesses, and visitors. Based in Lawrenceville, the county has been described as one of the fastest-growing in the United States, with its population rising from about 588,448 in 2000 to more than a million. The County Administrator and County Attorney are appointed by the Board of Commissioners, and a management team oversees fifteen departments—Police Services, Fire and Emergency Services, Corrections, Child Advocacy and Juvenile Services, Communications, Support Services, Financial Services, Community Services, Human Resources, Information Technology Services, Law, Parks and Recreation, Planning and Development, Water Resources, and Transportation. Constitutional officers and independent elected officials, including the Sheriff, Tax Commissioner, District Attorney, Probate Court Judge, and Chief Magistrate, provide separate services beyond the executive branch. The county's location and infrastructure support mobility and access, with more than 2,750 miles of roadways and proximity to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and downtown Atlanta; in 2026 it launched an updated website to better connect residents, businesses, and visitors with programs and services.
