Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh is dedicated to providing safe, decent, affordable housing in partnership with hardworking families in need. Reaching across religious, cultural, and racial boundaries, we seek to restore a sense of community with the common goal of strong neighborhoods and dignity through home-ownership.

Habitat succeeds in reintroducing into neighborhoods the most basic building block of any community - the homeowner. Habitat provides resources, guidance, and hope to aspiring families. These families work from within their neighborhoods, creating the change we all seek, and repaying the investment that we have made in them.

Habitat Newburgh serves as the general contractor on all its rehabilitation and new construction projects. By using volunteer labor and many donated materials, Habitat is able to do what no other government or corporate entity can do--leverage and multiply every dollar raised and every ounce of energy donated. Our home-ownership program has become a critical part of a comprehensive solution to the crisis of poverty housing in the Greater Newburgh area. By working together--volunteers, corporations, congregations, individual supporters, and homeowner families--the cycle of poverty housing can be broken, neighborhoods rebuilt, and communities revitalized.
