Hakim Optical is a Canadian optical retailer with origins in lens manufacturing. The business began about 55 years ago when Mr. Hakim ground lenses for the wholesale market, drawing on training in Iran and refining his craft in Germany and Switzerland. It has grown into a network of more than 170 outlets serving consumers across Ontario and other provinces, including Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Manitoba, Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan. Positioned in the medical equipment manufacturing sector, the company aims to deliver wholesale-style value through its retail channels.

The company is headquartered in Etobicoke, Ontario, and operates a nationwide retail footprint. In 2017 Hakim Optical introduced a virtual try-on feature using augmented reality and expanded this to a cross-platform application available on iOS, Android, and desktop.
