The Halifax Humane Society, Inc. is a private nonprofit organization that operates as an open-door animal shelter serving the Greater Daytona Beach area in Volusia County, Florida. Each year the shelter cares for more than 25,000 animals, with a daily kennel capacity around 350, typically near full occupancy. The campus includes a spay/neuter clinic to perform early-age surgeries so adopted animals are altered before entering a home, and a Redinger Spay/Neuter Clinic in Daytona Beach offers subsidized procedures. In addition to sheltering, the organization provides humane education through schools, businesses, and civic groups via tours and presentations, and offers training and behavior classes to help keep pets with their families.
