Hansen Medical, a mid-sized medical device manufacturer based in Mountain View, California, was founded in 2002 by Dr. Fred Moll. The company helped pioneer flexible robotic technology and developed two robotic systems, Magellan for multi-specialty peripheral vascular work and Sensei for interventional electrophysiology. In 2018, Auris Health launched the Monarch Platform, a robotic system cleared by the FDA for diagnostic and therapeutic bronchoscopic procedures, designed to enable physicians to diagnose small, hard-to-reach peripheral lung nodules with improved precision.
