Harken Inc. is an employee-owned manufacturer in the maritime transportation sector with production sites in Pewaukee, Wisconsin and Limido Comasco, Italy. The company serves a global market through distribution in 48 countries and group offices in nine countries, supported by a mid-sized workforce. Founded in 1968, it originated from the invention of the plastic recirculating ball bearing block and its work with Olympic sailboats. Its offerings include sailboat blocks, deck hardware, winches, hydraulics, and safety and rescue equipment and services, with a focus on maintaining leadership in these areas. The customer base comprises leading sailing teams, designers, and builders who rely on its gear for performance and reliability, and the firm operates a Safety and Rescue Division as a growth priority while pursuing improved rope-handling under load. A recent development includes participation in the 2026 RYA Dinghy & Watersports Show and the release of a video introducing its ILCA kicker.
