The Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1931 giving its first performance at William Penn High School on March 19th. The first season, 1931-1932, included just four concerts. The HSO season now includes seven Masterworks concerts, five Capital Blue Cross Pops concerts, and numerous special events. Performing in the historic Forum auditorium in downtown Harrisburg, the HSO has continued to live up to its promise of bringing moving performances of symphonic music to the Greater Harrisburg Area.
