Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) is a major aviation hub located in Atlanta, Georgia. Operating within the airlines and aviation sector, it holds the distinction of being the world’s busiest airport by passenger traffic. The facility handles more than 104 million passengers annually and provides nonstop service to 150 U.S. destinations and nearly 70 international destinations across more than 45 countries. The airport has earned recognition across concessions, operations, architectural engineering and construction, receiving awards such as the Global Efficiency Excellence Award in 2013 and others from industry groups. ATLNext, a 20-year capital improvement plan, aims to modernize the Domestic Terminal, expand cargo operations and concourses, replace two parking facilities, and support a hotel and mixed-use development in the airport precinct. As part of its ongoing modernization, ATL announced in 2026 upgrades to the Plane Train system with next-generation vehicles.
