HATCH operates as a global network of diverse experts aimed at solving challenges inspired by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Founded in 2004 and based in Bozeman, Montana, United States, it functions as a think tank with a collaborative ecosystem that spans multiple initiatives. 
Its activities include three annual invite-only Summits in Big Sky, Latin America, and Europe that bring together about 100 global changemakers, and it runs HATCH Labs and HATCH edu to facilitate design-thinking workshops for corporate, academic, and educational partners and to mentor students. HATCH also operates H360, a platform that uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to connect collaboration among change-makers, and its Dinner Series supports peer-to-peer acceleration.
