Hays Medical Center is a private, not-for-profit hospital serving the Hays area in western Kansas. Formed by the 1991 merger of two religiously affiliated facilities, it provides the region’s only tertiary-level health care services. The organization articulates a core mission to help people be healthy and pursues the goal of becoming the best tertiary care center in rural America. In 2022, it was named by the National Rural Health Association as one of the top 20 rural and community hospitals in the country. Recent developments include the appointment of Joben Rieth as Chief Nursing Officer, effective March 10, 2025. The hospital expanded clinical services with the addition of Dr. Manoj Jagtiani to the pain center in January 2025 and participated in the Kansas Hospital Association Advocacy Day in Topeka that month.
