HBI (Home Builders Institute) is a national nonprofit organization employing 501-1000 people and headquartered at 1201 15th Street Northwest, Washington, District of Columbia, United States. It offers skilled trades training, curriculum development, and job placement services for the building industry, with all programs provided at no cost to students, funded by private and corporate sponsors, state and local grants, and individual donors. Programs are delivered nationwide to diverse populations, including at-risk youth, veterans and transitioning service members and their families, justice-involved individuals, displaced workers, high schools and trade schools, and adults starting a career in construction. HBI's curriculum is one of only three nationally recognized by the U.S. Department of Labor, and its materials are available for purchase by schools, community programs, and re-entry and rehab programs. In May 2026, HBI launched the Ed Talks podcast, focusing on workforce development.
