HEAL Clinics prevents, treats, and puts into remission type-2 diabetes, pre-diabetes, and obesity, all under medical protocols and supervision using a Low-Carbohydrate approach. The traditional medical treatment for type-2 diabetes prescribed by doctors uses pills and insulin shots, which HEAL refers to as the “pills and needles” approach, and it rarely puts diabetes into remission. HEAL’s Low-Carb lifestyle protocol nearly always puts type-2 diabetes, pre-diabetes, and obesity into remission. Unlike popular weight loss clinics, HEAL’s clientele are all medically supervised. HEAL Clinics have various programs to keep the costs of treatment low, especially when compared to the “pills and needles” approach. HEAL Clinics was co-founded by Dr. Eric Westman, HEAL’s president, and Bruce Rossiter, HEAL’s CEO. Dr. Westman is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Duke University and Director of the Duke Lifestyle Medicine Clinic. He is a widely published author, and a world-renowned researcher and expert using Low-Carb treatments to fight type-2 diabetes, pre-diabetes, and obesity. Dr. Westman’s books and publications include The New Atkins for a New You, Cholesterol Clarity, Obesity: Evaluation and Treatment Essentials, and the Low-Carbohydrate, Ketogenic Diet Manual. Mr. Rossiter has been a senior officer in two national venture capital funds, was a former associate with McKinsey and Company, and is a successful entrepreneur.
