Healthy Humans is an amazing company consisting of some of the world’s top medical doctors in integrative medicine (including folks like Dr. Mehmet Oz of Oprah fame).  Their mission – help people with chronic illness (like diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, crohn’s & colitis, and many more) get unbelievable outcomes.  All built on the premise that instead of just treating the symptoms of illness, but by looking at the underlying physiology and psychology of an individual that you can dramatically enhance the condition.  The underlying software engines are built on open source software (of course), and leverage the evidence-based research and MD clinical expertise to build personalized wellness plans for individuals.

While my love for open source and its societal enablement of true “mass collaboration” hasn’t waned one bit, I knew I wanted to use those “movements” to do more than just help businesses save money and reach new heights.  The moment a Healthy Humans user told me, “Your program has changed my life” (she has type 2 diabetes and was able to significantly reduce her A1c’s and lose weight she could never lose before), I was hooked.  Consumer-directed healthcare is big, and by leveraging open source concepts with incredible medical and business teams, many many lives can be touched.
