Heartland Independent Living Center strives to create “Accessibility for All.”  and seeks to empower people with disabilities by helping them to live independently with dignity and security.  Heartland is a non-profit, non-residential, community based, 501 (c)(3) organization that serves people with disabilities, living in East-central Missouri. Our programs and services assist people to maintain and/or achieve independent living in their own homes. Almost all of Heartland Independent Living Center’s programs and services are offered without cost to the consumer. These programs include but are not limited to, assistive technology, home modifications, adaptive equipment, adaptive telephones, dental services, energy assistance, Care closet and the core services of advocacy, information & referral, independent living skills training, peer support, and transition.  Services are offered primarily in Franklin, Maries, and Gasconade counties, with some programs extending to 9 additional counties in central and eastern Missouri.
