Hein Lighting & Electric was founded in 1973 by Ed Hein and a ‘68 Chevy pickup. Jim Hein began his apprenticeship with his father in 1976 after graduating from Del Valle High School. Rich Hein joined his brother in the family business in 1987 after achieving his B.S. in Accounting from Cal State University at Hayward. Shortly after Ed retired in ‘89, Jim and Rich incorporated Hein Lighting & Electric, and have grown the business to as many as 60 employees.
