Helms College is a private, independent postsecondary career school sponsored by Goodwill Industries of Middle Georgia Inc. and licensed by the Georgia Non-public Post-Secondary Education Commission and accredited by the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET). 

In response to concerns from the president of Goodwill Industries of Middle Georgia and the CSRA, regarding meaningful skill training and education for individuals seeking employment, a concept was born to further fulfill the mission of the organization: to help people discover and develop their God-given gifts through education, work, and career development services.. 

Helms College currently offers Associate Degree and Diploma programs in culinary arts at its Macon and Augusta campuses, and health services programs in both regions with a School of Trades recently launched in Macon.  A School of Technology and Business is planned to launch in Augusta in 2022.
	
At Helms College students can become part of a vibrant academic community where they will be guided in the classroom by faculty who possess a wealth of industry experience. They will challenge and push students to reach beyond both their previous accomplishments and obstacles and help them achieve the knowledge, skills, and abilities they need for the career they want. In addition to students work in the classroom and labs, they will also have plenty of opportunities for hands-on experiential learning and talents, and allow them to build a strong resume even before they earn their degree.
