Helping Hands Hawai‘i administers numerous programs that benefit the community, including the Bilingual Access Line, Emergency Assistance Program, SNAP Outreach, Community Clearinghouse, Ready to Learn, Adopt a Family and Representative Payee Services. These programs offers a full continuum of care for clients and represent distinct areas of need. They work in concert to help all of Hawaii realize its fullest potential in a rapidly evolving, increasingly global society. With a mission to provide critical social services to improve people's quality of life and empower them on their path to a better tomorrow. Helping Hands Hawai‘i provides a vital lifeline for the local community – helping its members to help one another. The agency began as the Honolulu Council of Social Agencies’ Volunteer Placement Bureau in 1941 and incorporated as Helping Hands Hawaii in 1974.
