Based in Washington, DC, and operating internationally, the institute partners with acclaimed jazz masters and institutions to deliver instructional programs at no charge to schools and communities. Founded in 1986 as the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz, it adopted its current name in 2019 to reflect continued leadership and contributions to music education.
