HIA Technologies Inc. operates in the education sector, developing interactive video experiences that enable publishers to engage viewers through synchronous-like, 1-on-1 interactions within video content. The platform supports asynchronous, personalized conversations between the content creator and viewers, allowing users to ask and answer questions directly inside the video, with the creator retaining control over interactions and tracking engagement details. This approach aims to improve engagement, consistency, and accountability for content delivery by putting the author in charge of audience interactions. The company is based in Pasadena, California, and has a scale that places it among smaller technology firms in the education space. Recent developments include the launch of Qvio, described as an interactive video platform that enables viewers to interrupt videos with questions and receive direct responses from the video creator, reflecting a continued focus on expanding interactive, creator-controlled content experiences.
