Hillside is a private Christian school that fosters future innovators through a project-based learning approach emphasizing academics, problem solving, creativity, social skills, faith and character development. We provide our students with the core academic skills to prepare them for the next level using the philosophy that one size does not fit all. Our play-based preschool program with targeted learning objectives gives students the start they need; our elementary then builds on this foundation by engaging students in hands-on learning so that by middle school our students are focusing on real-life application of the knowledge and skills they have learned. We offer a variety of specialized programs consisting of classes in fine art, foreign language, creative movement, music, as well as a curriculum focused on interdisciplinary, hands-on learning. Additionally, Hillside Academy offers specialized learning programs for children with dyslexia and language difficulties. The Hillside Academy student will be encouraged to become global citizens, through community service projects, our annual giving market and with stewardship programs. We strive to make our classrooms safe places where students can accept their mistakes and talk freely about their ideas.
